(A conversation with a friend made this memory bubble to the top...)
When I was in school, one of the classes was with Marion Kelly. She dragged the class down to Land Court, in the Kapuaiwa Building, look up our home addresses, get the tax map key, and check the history of the land that the house sat on. Our house was on former Crown lands, one of the royals being Princess Ruth Ke‘elikÅlani.
A few years later, I got my first job with the State of Hawai‘i. Wanna guess the name of the building? Weird, huh?
